Empowering Communities, Creating Opportunities
GEBIE’s Community Development Program (CDP) delivers essential employment and training services to nearly 700 community members across Angurugu, Umbakumba, and Milyakburra. We are committed to supporting Jobseekers with tailored programs that enhance skills, promote economic participation, and create sustainable employment pathways.
A Proven Track Record

The GEBIE Next Generation Project – Supporting Groote Eylandt youth aged 16-25 to build skills and gain employment.
Community Work Crews – Providing opportunities in Angurugu and Umbakumba for community members to undertake paid employment while upskilling and working on projects valued by the community.
Community Projects – supporting participants to complete mandated Community Work Orders.
Further Paid Employment Pathways – Creating real jobs in the Hospitality, Administration and Construction sectors.
Looking ahead this year, we anticipate delivering an enhanced service model under a new Remote Employment Services contract, expanding initiatives that drive participation, employment, and economic development for all communities across the Groote Archipelago.
