GEBIE Facilities Responsibilities
GEBIE Facilities purchases, manages and maintains all the GEBIE Group assets including plant & equipment, vehicle fleet, and housing on Groote Eylandt.
Individual departments of GEBIE Facilities includes:
- A team of local indigenous people who complete lawn maintenance and yard clean up service on Eylandt
- Manage and maintain the 126-room mining camp which is currently leased to the GEMCO mining company
- Manage a large fleet of vehicles that are leased to our subsidiaries on Eylandt. Our fleet consists of heavy machinery for civil work and our light vehicle fleet that supply services to the Eylandt.
- GEBIE holds the Traditional Owner lease of the industrial estate known as Pole 13 and 14 at Alyangula. GEBIE leases land to other long term commercial businesses on Eylandt
- GEBIE Facilities also manage the large portfolio of houses for GEBIE employees and other residents who service the Eylandt.
